❉ About Me ❉

Hello Everyone!!! My name is Mrs. Spence and I am so excited to be your first grade teacher. This will be my third year of teaching and my third year at Reagan.  This is my second year of teaching first grade...and I love it!!  Sometimes I wonder who is having more fun...the teacher or the kids?!?!?

While every year of teaching is special in its own way, this year will be especially unique as this will be the first year that I will have a full-size class & classroom!  I spent my first two years of teaching small groups of 14-17 kids : ) in a small classroom with no windows : (  This was a great experience and allowed me to develop a special bond with my students.  While I feel blessed to have had this opportunity, I embrace the challenges of managing a full-size classroom and having windows!!!!  

❉ My Life ❉

I am from Fairbury, NE . . . a small town on the central Kansas-Nebraska border.  I graduated from Fairbury High School in 2006. I spent a year attending Southeast Community College in Beatrice and completed my degrees in Elementary and Special Education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2010.  I met my, now husband, while student teaching in Kearney.  We now live in Gretna, NE.

I recently married my husband John in a small evening ceremony in his parent's backyard last August.  It was a beautiful and memorable experience for both of us!  John is truly a "jack of all trades".  During the day, he delivers medical oxygen for a company here in Omaha.  In his spare time, he volunteers on the Gretna Fire Department.  My husband is also a rockstar!  No REALLY...HE IS!!! He is an extremely talented musician!  He plays the bass in a local rock band.

We do not have any children at this point, but we do have two amazing cats, Skeeter & Dexter. They are total opposites, just like me and John.  But you know what they say!!!

We are absolutely in love with our cats. I don't know what we would do without them. They are very loving (for the most part) and entertaining.  I enjoy sharing funny stories about my cats so stay tuned!
